Toothpaste

Toothpaste ingredients.

Why is it that there has been a backlash against fluoride? There are several factors, but the main one is dilemma about fluoride’s poisoning. While kids are the ones who are most at chance of oral fluorosis, which is due to extreme fluoride consumption and can appear as light lines on the pearly whites or even dark-colored, marked and damaged the pearly whites, anyone can be diseased if even small quantities of tooth paste are consumed continually. Also, because tap water is often handled with fluoride, many people are careful of the opportunity of eating too much. Dentisse is just one example of a tooth paste that does not contain fluoride; another well-known company is Tom’s of Maine.

There are other substances to be on the look out for, as well. Saccharin, which gives tooth paste its lovely flavor, has been attached to cancer malignancy in mice by several analysis. However, there is no apparent proof that it is attached to cancer malignancy in people. An element that I individually like to prevent is salt lauryl sulfate; not only is it an stimulant, but also it has been attached to canker damage (also known as aphthous damage, which I am unfortunately inclined to) by several analysis. Lastly, triclosan, an component used to wipe out dangerous bacteria and prevent gum disease has been the patient matter of some analysis. While analysis have found that it eliminates dangerous unsafe bacteria in the mouth, it is worth noting that some analysis has attached triclosan to hormone changes in creatures. The FDA is currently examining various analysis regarding the protection of the component, and will make its results community in may 2011.
