Tornado AND Storm an America Issue

April 27th, 2011 was one of the most difficult days in the history of United States of American. That was the day that massive storms and tornadoes swept across many homes across state of Alabama, most particularly Tuscaloosa. This storm front stole lives and leveled towns. Many were killed, even more injured; homes were completely destroyed; and entire neighborhoods and towns were erased in moments.Adding to the confusion was the fact that thousands were without power for days, even weeks. Many residents had no choice but to live off of granola bars and bottled water. They were unable to take or offer warm showers to survivors, cook for themselves or others, or even purify water. This wasn’t because their homes were destroyed, but because they simply had no way to run the necessary appliances. Simply put, many of us depend entirely on power plants to supply us with the energy we need. Without it, they were ill prepared.

  • A comfortable handle (for easy carrying)
  • Heavy duty reflectors (rugged enough to stand up to the wind)
  • A leveling leg so you can easily adjust the oven to fully face the sun.

It’s the perfect tool for emergency preparedness, but can also be used for everyday cooking and camping trips! The solar oven is able to reach temperatures up to 400 degrees … all you need is the oven and a pot, and you’re ready to cook anything and everything! And, believe it or not, the cook times remain relatively the same as conventional oven cook times. What’s even more impressive, the food tastes better than food cooked in a normal oven. This is because the heat is evenly distributed and the juices and flavors remain locked in. In fact, it is nearly IMPOSSIBLE to burn food cooked in the solar oven because of how evenly the food is cooked. You don’t even have to stir it!As we’ve seen with the major flooding of the Mississippi River that is affecting states from Missouri to the Gulf Coast, and as we’re seeing now with tornado-ravaged Joplin, Missouri, disasters happen in a moment, in the blink of an eye. You need to have the equipment to face that disaster when it happens, not scrabbling around in the dirt trying to survive. Your solar oven could be used to sterilize water, or sterilize utensils or dishes in the absence of water. The uses are only limited by your imagination. When nature forces life to hit the fan and the contents of that life are splattered all over a devastated landscape, are you going to be a victim or a survivor? I choose to be a survivor.
