State Prison: Best health care in town!

Criminals are entitled to health care benefits and medical procedures that the average law-abiding citizen cannot afford!

Medical care. Dental care. Psychological counseling. Rehabilitation. Hormone Therapy. Plastic Surgery. House, um, cell calls. All available at your fingertips. All available free of charge. And, all available under one roof.

Now, how tempting is that?

With an economy in tatters, health care a mess, jobs and pride both things of the past, and hope vanishing faster than our life savings – the prison system, with it’s three squares a day, a roof over the head, and all the free medical you can squeeze into your visit – is looking better and better to some forward thinking entrepreneurs!

Here are but a few jaw-dropping examples of a prison system gone wild!

  • A man robbed a bank for $1.00 in order to be sent to prison for a variety of ailments - a growth in his chest being the deciding factor. He had lost his health benefits when he lost his job and wasn’t willing to lose his life as well.
  • A homeless man slashed the tires of hundreds of vehicles hoping to be sent to prison for treatment of painful chronic bleeding hemorrhoids that had become intolerable.
  • A man who was forced to steal a television for THREE days in a row before he was finally arrested and sent to prison – where he was able to receive the life-saving dialysis that he was denied as a free man.
  • The elderly couple who robbed a bank and then sat in a cheap hotel with some burgers from McDonalds – waiting to be arrested. Every cent of the money was accounted for. She had cancer and would have died without proper medical attention.

Need plastic surgery? That’s available as well – but only to certain privileged souls!

Here’s a few examples of who is – and who is NOT – entitled to plastic surgery!

  • Tracie Andrews cut her boyfriends throat and stabbed him 37 times. She is about to be released after only 15 years and has been given a $5,000.00 chin re-alignment as a going away gift. The prison refuses to comment.
  • A man shoots a woman to death and then shoots himself in the head – and lives. While hospitalized, his jaw was repaired only to the point where it was functional. But, after being sent to prison for murder, he was given a series of operations to make it “look more natural.” Again, no comment from the prison.
  • An artist was attacked in her own home, and amongst other horrific injuries – 4 of her fingers were cut off. She needs an operation to fit custom-made orthotic fingers in order for her to resume her life -AND her means of earning an income. She is ineligible unless she can raise the $15,000.00 herself.

(Perhaps she should think about cutting off someone else’s fingers so she can receive the treatment she so desperately needs?)

  • The leader of one of the world’s most violent drug gangs had a small scar surgically removed from his lip. The prison defended their actions by saying that it was causing the poor man ‘low self-esteem’! He also had a cell phone and a BUDGIE in his cell, but – that’s a whole different can of worms!
  • Transgendered prisoners receive tax-payer funded hormone injections and psychological counselling. They are constantly fighting to have the laws changed so that actual sex change operations can be performed in prison, as well!
  • Dental check-ups, cleanings, fillings and any other necessary repairs are scheduled like clockwork – and free of charge. There has even been some cases of teeth whitening for departing prisoners – to help them re-integrate into society, of course!

Sigh.

But, of course!

It’s disheartening to know that the free-man is unable to get the proper health care that is needed (ie; life threatening, or illness) unless he breaks a law?

I will admit, I have thought about it many of times as times get tough and savings run dry.

It’s deplorable, really. And to think there are so many in Congress and other organizations who want to un-do any strides the Obama administration has made toward universal health care. When drug dealers, robbers, rapists and murderers can get health care that is far superior to that received by working, productive citizens, there is something terribly wrong.

It’s pretty sad isn’t it? Law abiding citizens don’t get the benefits but the criminals do!

Oh wow, there’s little hope for those of us in the real world. I wonder, is honesty a crime for which you can be sent to jail?

Great article my friend. While I agree with some of the other responders regarding the travesty in committing a crime in order to receive life saving medical treatment behind bars, some of the other care is simply too outlandish. Personally, I’ll take my chances here on the outside instead of trading my health care for three hots and a cot.

I don’t think it is a crime if someone is so desperate and there is someone else just round the corner who could help them. The problem is that we have built walls around these things because of money. oh well! Peace be with you all!

So, If I’m thinking of a boob job in the near future maybe I’ll just kick the nearest police man in the goolies…

This is quite crazy that people are willing to give themself a criminal record just so they can get the medical attention they need.

An excellent article. Incidentally – the day that prisons throughout the world offer only a cell (as in “dungeon,” and not “phone”) – and (existing or potential) criminals are made fully aware that (if caught and sentenced) they (or their families) will be expected to provide their own cell- furniture and bedding, pay for their prison outfits, utilities; lights and water, meals, laundry, telephone calls, stationery and postage stamps, and any medical or dental care they may need, on a “No Free Lunches Here!” basis. And/or work a full 9-5 day (5-7 day week) in return for their board and lodging, etc.

Is the day the ’socially undisciplined’ will think (more than) twice about committing a crime, and crime itself will diminish?

    See my article:

for existing and ongoing ‘crimes against humanity,’ i.e., crimes against individuals who have committed no crimes! And pray (that unless this government is disbanded) the Communist Chinese never succeed in their aim to take over the entire (free) world!

It reminded me of a tv series called Boys From the Black Stuff .. in which a character threw a beer keg through a window to get into jail for winter as he was homeless. sounds like a plan… for some, but crazy.

Great article. It would seem, that in a humane society, medical care would be available for its citizens. Very sad..

Perhaps Sheriff Joe who presides over an area in Arizona, USA would be helpful in solving these inappropriate and unthinkable “perks”…
