UFO Cover-up: Why?

Is there a government cover-up regarding UFOs and extraterrestrials in the United States, as many contend? If this is so; why? What are possible reasons for such a cover-up? Is it really “national security” or is that just an excuse?

National Security or Power Mongering?

They’re Here   by Bill M. Tracer

So, if indeed the US government has been hiding the truth from its people regarding UFOs, and possible “secret” relations they might have established with extraterrestrials many years ago, or even ancient extraterrestrial artifacts found on the Moon and/or Mars, what kind of motives might they have for hiding such information? Theories abound, rumors and even a kind of modern UFO “lore” has grown up around this topic, and has found a comfortable home on the Internet, where it proliferates and constantly mutates. But how much of this UFO lore is fact and how much is fiction?

The Brookings Report

Some propose that this cover-up has its origins in certain suggestions found in a report written in 1960, now informally called the Brookings Report. This idea is hotly debated, since the cover-up seems to have begun before 1960, though at the very least this report could be from where much of the cover-up policy became solidified. This report was commissioned by NASA in 1960, and was prepared by the Brookings Institution. Its actual formal full name is, Proposed Studies on the Implications of Peaceful Space Activities for Human Affairs. As the name states, this report looks at a variety of subjects interrelated to the spread of Humankind into the realm of outer space, with an emphasis on our doing so peacefully. While it is a rather lengthy report, there are certain small portions that talk about the implications of extraterrestrial life and the possible ramifications of our receiving radio communications from distant aliens. It also explores the possibility that ancient extraterrestrial artifacts might be discovered by Human space travelers once exploration takes us to other worlds like the Moon, Mars, and/or Venus. These sections are of special interest to those who find cover-up suggested in this report. Though the report does not come right out and say that the discovery of such extraterrestrial artifacts should be covered up, or that such communications should not be shared with the world, the implication is clearly there in the report’s tone.

Thanks to the diligence of one, Dan Woolman, who requested a copy of this report under the Freedom of Information Act, (FOIA), a complete copy of the Brookings Report, (all 276 original pages), is now available online, scanned and translated into a Microsoft Word document, then further edited to correct errors. After looking it over, I noted that not quite all of the scan translation errors have been corrected, but it is very readable, just the same. The link on the report’s full name above, will take you to this scanned/translated document.

This was a very well researched and provactive look into the minds of those which hold power. Cover ups concerning first contact are still going on. Some researchers into the field of ufology have had their years of work siezed in the name of Natrional Security,

This actually goes hand and hand with your article series. There are governments within the governments that most have no idea exist,, Full disclosure and cover ups will continue until our visitors decide to reveal then selves to the masses on a grander set of scales.

Hope you may find this interesting as well as helpful with the expansion of your series of articles surrounding this subject matter your researching and writing about. Although the report you talked about in this article does indeed exist there’s about 12 others which will not be released to the public until 2015. You may wonder how I know this?
I’m not at liberty to tell you this, just keep an eye on the news and watch Orion’s Belt the star constelation over the next two years and start think dimensionally.

I agree with your conclusion. Bastards (sorry for stronger word) in power will do anything to keep that power. Progress, knowledge and free thinking were always (and still are) the victims of power mongering f*****s.

Nice job with this Bill. I tend to feel we are being prepared for alien disclosure but also feel that there are very powerful factors preventing it from happening.

Thank you much, Quail. No apology necessary. The font in this comment box is awfully small, so I perfectly understand.

And to all the others who’ve left comments, Thank you so much. All the input is much appreciated.

Why? What purpose is served in hiding information from the people? Certainly we deserve the truth…but the government probably feels like Jack Nicholson’s character, when he said “You can’t handle the truth!”

You know, Freethinking, they may well feel that way, but if so, then to that I simply say they are wrong. We can handle it, and we have the right to handle it.
