Un Chief: Gaddafi Dead, Clean Up Time

"This is just the end of a beginning," said Ban Ki-moon.

Moammar Gaddafi Dead said UN Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon, a beginning of a new Libya. After this, said Ki-moon, the time for the government and the Libyan people to clean up.

“This is just the end of a beginning. Now is the time for all the people of Libya to move forward together,” said Ki-moon in a brief statement, quoted by Reuters on Thursday, October 20, 2011.

“This is the time for recovery and clean up, build.’s Not the time for revenge,” said Ki-moon.

Gaddafi death was announced by the Libyan National Transition Council (NTC) on Thursday morning local time. There has been no confirmation from U.S. and NATO about the truth of the news. Nevertheless, in addition to Ki-moon, world leaders have given them a message after the death of Gaddafi.

One of them is Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said that the Libyan people should determine their own fate after Gaddafi. “We hope that peace will be created in Libya and all the leaders in the country can reach an agreement to form a government,” said Medvedev, quoted by CNN.

Italian Foreign Minister, Franco Frattini, said, “If true Gaddafi was killed, then this is a big victory for the people of Libya. This will pave the way for democratic transition, the formation of the transitional government and democratic elections.”
