View on Caste System
This is my opinion about caste system in India.
None of us are born as brahmin, kshatriya, vaishya or shudra. Every place we have group system, let it be in our office, school or in our locality. In the same way, one large group which is our society was categorized into different groups to serve people in different ways. Later that became the main reason for hatred and terrorism. The Indian caste system are divided into 4 main castes, they are :
Brahmins – Well versed in Sanskrit and slogas
Kshatriyas – are warriors
Vaishya – are good in accounts, marketing, hawkers
Shudra – who are good in Physical work
Every person has all these 4 castes in him; he belongs to that caste, characteristics of which are more paramount in him. Take a man in his different pursuits or vocations, for example: when he is engaged in serving another for pay, he is in Shudra; when he is busy transacting some piece of business for profit, on his account, he is a Vaishya; when he fights to right wrongs then the qualities of a Kshatriya come out in him; and when he meditates on God, or passes his time in conversation about Him, then he is a Brahmin. Nobody is higher in caste or nobody is lower. Every man is good at one thing or the other. A person who mends shoes might not be well versed in Sanskrit; it does not mean that he is lower to Brahmins. In the same way, a person who is well versed in Sanskrit might not be able to mend shoes.
The sage Vishwamitra belonged to Kshatriya caste, and only later he was recognized as a great Brahmin sage. Valmiki once a low-caste robber became a great sage. These things are evidently indicating that caste is not determined by birth.
