Violence Hunts Young Pro-Athletes
Repeatedly we are hearing reports of young athletes involved in violence. Can this be avoided?
It seem’s to me that every other week we are getting report’s of a Pro/Athlete either being a victim of violence or being accused of violence. While all of these instances have different locations and different circumstances most do have some common traits.
- Most happen in clubs or bars.
- Most happen well after midnight in the early morning hours.
- Most happen to young (20 something) men who come from very little and find themselves having more than they ever imagined.
With great success come great responsibility, these young men need to realize they are not invincible and that they are putting themselves into situations that are not warrented. They need to make clear decisions on the way they live and how they interact. Your average joe can be in a bar until 2am and go un-noticed. when your in the public eye and fall into the realm of “FANHOOD” you have an element that the average joe does not have to deal with. It is your responsibility to be aware of the decisions you make and how those decisions effect you, your family and those around you.
I am certainly not making the case that people should live in fear and that they do not have the right to be where ever they choose at what ever time they choose. What I am saying is that because of the choices they made (High Profile) they need to make adjustments in their lives so that we do not continue to loose these great athletes and the joy that they bring us as fans.
