Warmongering America

America was once known as the land of the free, unless you were a slave of course, but that was yesterday.

Today America is famous for its warmongering. Why is this so, you ask? Lately, people think the answer is oil. Oil is needed to make gasoline, and lots of gasoline is needed to haul overweight Americans in unneeded SUVs to grocery stores, restaurants, gas stations, etc. You get the picture. Americans like to blame politics and politicians for initiating military action against other countries, under the guise of “humanitarianism” and other such vague concepts. Some like to blame the large oil companies in whose pockets the politicians reside, dancing like marionettes on strings to the whims of the oil execs, but in reality neither politicians nor oil execs are to blame.

The truth – the USA has a national thirst for blood and killing, and getting to test out weapons of war on live people. After all, the proof IS in the pudding. Americans just love their toys, especially their electronic ones. Just look at the number of articles here on Triond about all the hand-held electronic “marvels”.

When asked about any world situation involving death by military action, most Americans decry the loss of human life, but damn! They sure love talking about it and watching it on the news, whether it be on a large flat screen TV, or on the tiny hand-held device. News coverage of America’s warmongering varies greatly depending upon what country you are watching the news in, and what agency is doing the reporting.

So what does all this mean? Why am I writing this now? Same reason that some idiots think you need a penis to commit rape.

Hey Absinthe – you continue to both amaze and amuse me. This piece just echoes of Don Henley’s “Dirty Laundry” (1982):

“she can tell you about the plane crash
with a gleam in her eye
    it’s interesting when people die
    give us dirty laundry”.

Keep ‘em coming. I love your stuff.
