What Can Punishment Do to Behavior?
About punishment and behavior.
What does punishment do to behavior?
Punishment lowers the probability that the incident response keep recurring . I think an effective punishment must be given contingently. To avoid confusion try to administrate it as soon as possible after undesired response. A punishment could be a variety of different things for instants; you can start by stopping them from doing the things they love like watching television, then you can say” no TV for a week” and you can also take the computer out of their room for a week or better yet! disconnect their internet connection for a week, there is another thing they love to do is talking on the phone with there friends so take that away too. The consequence of the punisher will also reduces the frequencies of it ever happening again. .
What are the drawbacks of using punishment?
The main problem with draw back is that it can be aversive. Because it is painful and uncomfortable for the punisher and the situation which resulted in the punishment can leave a result in feared, disliked, and resentment. Punishment must be administrated sparingly. For example ( A teacher that teaches the grade one is always punishing the children for not handing in their home work, while another teacher doesn’t so the children will eventually fear and even hate that particular teacher that is always punishing them.)
Do you think that punishment should be used to control behavior?
Yes I think so. My opinion on that subject is that I do think that punishment should be administrate to control behavior. By using the punishment you can enforce discipline as a form of a desired behavior. On the overall the emotional adjustment of a child or pet, discipline is mostly used by a superior to the one being disciplined mainly by punishment For example if a child is being disobedient use punishment instead of hitting the child. Being a pre-school teacher when I told a child not to do some thing or not to hit on another child I punished them by telling the child to stand up while the others are sitting down. The question is what is your insight on this situation?

Some kids don,t like to be punished. No body do not like punishment it makes them feel bad about it. The punishment will stop the behavior. it depends what they did wrong? Punishment means wrongdoing no tv cell phone no bike riding no video games or friends no going to a movie it all depends.
