What is Road Rage?

Some experiences I have had with other drivers.

Drivers are getting crazier by the day!  I was driving home a couple of days ago and a car passed me on the gravel shoulder with rocks flying through the air hitting my windshield.  What was so upsetting to this driver was the car coming in the opposite direction driving in the oncoming lane.  Needles to say as the car in that lane I was placed at higher risk.  I had the good sense to weave away from the oncoming car just in time to avoid a crash.  Another time I recall was the day a car aimed for my car door as they hit the gas and gunned the car off a side street unto a main street.  That experience scared the wits out of me and left me shaking in my boots.  What is the problem with drivers out there anyway?  People seem to get enraged over the slightest provocation.  Another example was during the recent power outage that came with hurricane Igor.  I headed out to Tim Horton’s after a night of no electricity.  When we arrived we found a lineup of around forty cars.  Unbelievable!  I sat in the left turn lane with my signal light blinking only to have cars come up behind me honking for me to move.  Rather then to reciprocate with a finger signal I decided to pull in up ahead and to line up the other way around.  I am a peace keeping individual and I would rather solve a problem then to add fuel to the fire.  I am not suggesting that I have never done anything in traffic that would enrage another driver.  One example that comes to mind is the day I misjudged where the parking lot turn off was located and ended up with my car stuck on the pavement like a seat on a sea-saw.  That one got a few honks and hoots and I felt mortified as a group of men came to the rescue lifting my Toyota Echo back unto the roadway.  Another time I recall is the day I ran over an orange pylon and thought for a split second that the bottom had fallen out of my car.  Again I was rescued by an elderly gentleman who saw what had happened and came to my rescue.  A friend of mine teased me as suggested I had developed an effective way to meet men.  I swear however that was the last thing on my mind when these incidents occurred.  Things have settled down over the past while for which I have no complaints.  When I go out into traffic my primary goal is to get from point A to point B.  If I happen unto any more drivers who still suffer with road rage I will look for a detour rather then to respond in kind.  Good advice for all drivers to take I think!
