Not many people think about the environment as being an important issue. Actually, one of today’s most serious problem all around the world is pollution. In fact, the most significant issue facing modern day China is the environment. Some causes of China’s environmental damage are; air pollution, water pollution and deforestation. The pollution in China has become so critical, that it is affecting everyone all around the world.

The need for change in China’s environment has become substantial. Air pollution plays a large role in China’s environmental problem. Two major causes of air pollution are car emissions and factories. Air pollution has created a “gray toxic shroud” that looms above Beijing. The air pollution has become so horrible in China that acid rain is coming down on neighboring countries. China is polluting the air with gasses that will eventually bring the world to its end! Another serious environmental issue in China today is its water pollution. Nearly 500 million people in China lack safe drinking water. However, people are not the only ones feeling the pain of polluted water, China’s marine life is depleting rapidly from waste being dumped into its waters. Fresh water is a major factor to the people and marine life’s environmental devastation. Water pollution has become a pressing issue for China, on the other hand deforestation has also become an environmental problem throughout China. Forests in China absorb carbon dioxide, which is a major cause of air pollution, and many forests are being wiped out. Without trees, conditions in China will deteriorate and air pollution will reach a new high. Deforestation is a major contributor to China’s environmental damage. That China is being held back from further advancement into industry and technology because of its air pollution, water pollution and deforestation.

The environment has become China’s most significant issue because of the air pollution, water pollution, and deforestation that companies are causing. China is currently releasing three times the amount of carbon dioxide than the US and Europe combined. If China doesn’t stop the environmental damage, it could lead to the end of their industry, improvements in technology, or the world. In fact, China has caused scarring effects to the atmosphere, and has been a humungous contributor global warming. It is time for the Chinese government to fix their environmental problems.
