What is Wrong with Our Society?

I don’t like watching the news. It seems that it is almost everyday, I hear about a child that has been beaten, hurt in some way by the hands of their parents or older kids. Have we as humans lost our compassion? There are the children that is living in an abusive environment. They have been taught that it’s okay for their life to be as it is. Well, it’s not! They get knocked around, hit for no reason, just for standing in the wrong place at the wrong time. Some are living in incest homes. Either the mom or dad is telling these children that it’s okay for them to touch their own child in places that they shouldn’t. It makes me sick to think about people that can be the parents of these children and then do what they are doing. It’s not always the parents, a lot of times it’s another family member. Then when the child tries to tell, no one listens. They are told that no one will believe them.

We have children abducted everyday. Sometimes the child is thankfully found, alive. But so many times when they are found they are not. They have been molested and left like trash. I just heard on the news how they found a little boy that had been put in a garbage bag, after the person that took him, molested and killed him. It breaks my heart to think about all the innocent children that is going through all the bad that is happening to them.
I say that people should listen when children talk. There are times that a child will go for years before they let it slip. Yes I said slip, because they are so ashame that a lot of times it just slips out what happened. They feel that what was done to them was their fault. So watch the children. If they seem to be distant or they act different from day to day, ask them if something is wrong. Get them to talk. They don’t deserve to have to live that way. They are our future.
