Where Current Development is Taking Us

About the ways we are living our lives and the the effect our ways have on our future.

What is development?

According to many dictionaries in the world, the word development can be explained as the act of improving by expanding and enlarging or refining, or in some cases it can be defined as gradual growth, maturation, evolution or progression.

But some might also argue that development is another form of exploitation, the act of making some area of land or water, or any other thing more profitable or productive and useful for human use.

While defining development and it impacts on the humans and the entire environment that surrounds it, it’s also very important to know what sustainable development is, because all the development is useless if it cannot be carried on to the next generations.

Sustainable development can be defined as, the need to balance the satisfaction of near-term interests with the protection of the interests of future generations, which also includes all the necessary measures to provide them a safe and healthy environment.

Now the question here is, what are we doing to make our environment and all the things related to it more effective and sustainable for our future generations?

As mentioned above, development is not necessarily for a good cause, we might forget, while making our brilliant development strategies that we are in fact affecting the whole Ecosystem around us. It might be said that it’s all for the greater good. But the fact can not be denied that in order to find comforts for our selves we have in fact destroyed many lives and homes of species which were supposedly a very integral part of our environment.

Below we shall be discussing some of the reasons which are making the development process more and more unsustainable. And what can we do to avoid a scenario of complete chaos and a lost generation.

Globalization and its impacts on human development:

First of all we are going to discuss the affects of globalization n man kind.

Globalization in its literal sense is the process of making, transformation of some things or phenomena into global ones. It can be described as a process by which the people of the world are unified into a single society and function together. This process is a combination of economic, technological, socio-cultural and political forces. Globalization is often used to refer to economic globalization, that is, integration of national economies into the international economy through trade, foreign direct investment, capital flows, migration, and the spread of technology.
