Why Few People Achieve Success? They Fear
Why few people achieve is largely due to fear. Fear may range from lack of assurance in ones own abilities to wariness of people, places and situations that are the attendants of success. Do not fear, sucess is here for all to take.
Why few people succeed in life?
The need to be accomplished and to contribute to the development and advancement of the human race and society is of utmost importance to many individuals. For some of us the idea of appearing successful is far more important that receiving accolades for virtues and mannerism. But very few people are at the top of the success ladder. One writer claims that you will find many individuals at the success but a countable few at the top.
Why do we desire success yet only few of us attain it?
Some may say it is due to lack of financial support since it takes money to make money. Others assert that it is inaccessibility to the right network of people to foment advancement. Some say that they do not possess the talent or ability. A few may hint that they are not physically qualified to reach the pinnacle of achievement in cases where racial prejudice and inequality stymie the progress of individuals from the dogged race.
But according to Napoleon Hill’s book Think and Grow Rich, what precludes success for most individuals is the fear of success. Some people are afraid that they may not achieve the desired outcome after years of work and dedication. Some people are trepidated that when they reach the summit of success that they may not be able to maintain their strides and might fall back to the base. No one wants to fall when they are at the top. An individual would rather remain at the bottom where he is sure of his station since when you are down, you cannot go any further.
Some people are scared of the consequents of success. We are afraid of envy. We are afraid of becoming a target for the less ambitious minds that will laud and despise us for being successful. We question how our closest friends and family will react and if it will affect our relationships. We worry about the sacrifices and indulgence that we may have to give up in order to achieve our ultimate goals. We are afraid of being at the mercy of others opinion. Success comes with fame: popularity means a lot more people to please. Few people can handle the spotlight and the critique that comes along with being in the public eye.
