Why Isn’t It Legal Yet!!
Why the government wants Marijuana to remain illegal.
I can go on and on talking about how our government hides the truth and trys to control the many good people in this country. But one thing more then any other bothers me the most. The constant outlandish lies coming from our leaders and lawmakers about Marijuana. The propaganda shown to to try and hurt a plant already thought of by the majority of Americans as taboo.
Lets start from the beginning. When our government wasn’t afraid of this harmless little plant. When our government actually made it illegal for farmers NOT to grow Hemp on their farms. Thats right, in the early 1600’s Hemp was considered as one of the most useful plants on the planet, and it still is! All farmers were legaly obligated to grow Hemp on their plantations. And for a while Cannabis was considered legal tender! You could buy things with it and even pay your taxes! Our founding fathers George Washington and Thomas Jefferson both grew Hemp on their plantations. George washington was know to smoke Cannabis, aka Marijuana, to relieve pain for toothaches. Hemp can be used for everything from rope, clothing, paper, even a renewable fuel source! Our constitution was written on paper made from Hemp. It wasn’t until about a hundred years ago that Marijuana and everything that came with it was illegal. Due to racial prejudice in the southern states against Mexican immigrants. It had nothing to do with plant itself, but was intended to discriminate against Minority immigrants. The first state law in America was in California due to the pharmaceutical industry that saw Marijuana a threat to their business. Why pay money for pills that you don’t need and have hundreds of side effects when you can grow your own organic medicine at home? Following that was a law passed in Utah that was strictly based on Mormon religion. Before long other states had followed the new fad of illegalizing Marijuana. Mostly out of racial prejudice but also because of the opposite current fear that Marijuana is a gateway drug into harder drugs such as meth and crack, but that heroin addicts will eventually start using Marijuana. So because the government couldn’t make money on Marijuana the made it illegal. Now theres another handy item invented by the pharmaceutical industry called the drug test. These tests are purely to try and discriminate against people who smoke Marijuana. Because Marijuana will stay in your system for a few weeks your more likely to be caught for smoking weed then for doing heroin or a harder drug that will leave your system in a matter of hours or a few days.
