Women Who Marry Prisoners on Anderson Cooper

This is about women who marry prisoners. Women who get involved with prisoners usually are trying to rescue them. Sometimes they want attention or feel safe knowing that they can’t hurt them because they are in prison. It gives them a false sense of security. It is also a way to avoid real intimacy.

Anderson Cooper had women on his program today that are connected with prisoners. One lady actually married a guy who was in prison after murdering someone in a gang related drive by shooting. He was only 16 at the time. He later was paroled and is trying to get his life together. She really seemed to have a pretty level head although you have to wonder about someone who would set themselves up for all of the conflict with their peers, family and careers.

She ended up with a lot of heartache because of running for a school board office. She has children and now is having to deal with the consequences of marrying a convict. He appeared by video and seemed to be a sincere adult male that made some very bad choices as a teenager.

There was another woman who married a guy that was in prison for life. She had children, and moved from Georgia to Washington to be near him. It seemed totally insane to me. She met him on a website where regular people can be pen pals to prisoners. I am sorry but I think you are just asking for trouble by doing that. I have a son who was in prison. I of course wrote to him and supported him. He is doing well today and I like to think that because of my support it gave him hope and strength to do well. I wouldn’t go out of my way though to get romantically involved with someone in prison that I didn’t know.

The worst case was a radiologist, Dr. Mary Hamer, from Florida,55 and divorced. She says that she loves Van Der Sloot unconditionally. She doesn’t believe that he is guilty. She has given at least $100,000, to help with his defense. She wants to rehabilitate him. She has contacted President Obama, as well as other people in high places to help her with her cause. She compares herself to Gandhi and Princess Di. She is a total whack job, to be precise. She wants him to move in with her so she can help rehabilitate him. She would like to bring the victims families together with Van Der Sloot. I don’t believe that she has no romantic interest in him, although she claims that she doesn’t.  Anderson had a real hard time containing his disgust.

After the broadcast it came out that Van Der Sloot confessed to the murder of Holloway. Dr. Mary Hamer is now trying to get her money back from Van Der Sloot’s defense attorney. Good luck on that one Miss Mary Goody Two Shoes. I think that she should go back to trying to help the dolphins.

What you’ve said makes sense. I wouldn’t want to date a prisoner let alone marry one. What some people don’t realize is, if a guy has hurt other people through dishonesty or whatever, he is capable of hurting them too. Unfortunately people put themselves up on a pedestal, and they think they’re better than those that were victimized. I wouldn’t want those types of problems. I’d rather have a dog.

I cannot imaging having any type of relationship with a prisoner as they obviously have many emotional problems, etc. There are others available for that romantic commitment…

It takes all kind of people to make up this world. I would also imagine that there are some men who wants to help women prisoners.
