Women Workers
Things women workers have to deal with in this day and age.
During 2009, working woman and mothers had to face countless combatively sad realities that have begun to profoundly disrupt the family unit. The possible impositions of some of the recommendations are issued as: 1) delays in the economic and employment benefits obtained by collective agreements with the government. 2) Freezing of new jobs and the elimination of vacant positions. 3) Elimination of cash payment for sick and vacation days accumulated in excess, plus all the taxes to be imposed on products of high consumption as gasoline and electricity. We understand that these struggles in the search of better employment conditions, such as high unemployment rate.
We also understand that this whole economic debacle just give it greater burden on the working woman and mothers. We condemn the imposition of double shifts that historically has been attributed to woman (who works outside the home and within it – for no pay). We are aware that the viability of the double shifts has been fostered through the educational system. The same insists on pigeonholing the role of woman, mother and submissive wife. The Caucus denounced this imposition and demand for recognition of working women under equal conditions and opportunities as men. To achieve this goal, we believe it is extremely important the review of school curriculum from the primary grades. Education must be considered within a gender free from stereotypes and prejudices.
