X Factor Fix

Since last night’s results people are claiming the show is a fix.

Last night’s X Factor show saw Frankie get through to next week’s show but The Risk lose their place. This has caused outrage by fans of the show due to Frankie’s performance being extremely poor whilst The Risk was completely the opposite.

Whenever we watch reality television shows the ‘fix’ theory comes up because people disagree with the decisions made and it’s easier for them to claim that the producers are fixing the votes instead of realising that the cause of the results is quite simple; people not voting for the good acts.

If you are watching the show and you hear Frankie being slammed and criticised then you are more likely to feel sorry for him and vote than you are when The Risk are being praised as you will assume they’re safe. When an act is criticised then fans of that act will try to help by voting whereas fans of acts that are praised don’t feel as though they need their vote as much.

Also, The Risk are young men who come across as being ‘very nice’ just like several of the other acts so therefore people who like this kind of act will have their votes split between various groups. Frankie is the opposite, he is arrogant and obnoxious with his own distinct style and so people who like this kind of attitude will only have him to vote for as none of the other male acts are like this so this may also explain why The Risk had less votes.

The television show is always in the news as it’s over hyped with dramas around the acts, the judges, the producers… it is beginning to get tiring, it is simple really- if you like an act then vote for them and if you haven’t voted then don’t cry a conspiracy theory if your favourite act has gone out.
