Youtube Subcription Scam?

Apparently there’s a new scam allowing youtubers to get hundreds of thousands of subscribers without posting a single video.

There’s recently been several new Youtube channels that got hundreds of thousands of subscribers overnight without posting a single video. According to many sources, there’s a new scam unclosed witch allows scammers to create a link that automatically subscribes anyone who clicks on the link to a youtube channel of the scammer’s choice.

Now, you’re probably wondering how on earth these scammers managed to get hundreds of thousands of clicks on a single link overnight. The answer, Facebook. There are a lot of groups on Facebook that with a good name can manage to accumulate an outstanding amount of members in a very short period of time. If the owner of the group chooses, they can make it so that in order to unlock the page a victim must first click on link. The result, an extreme amount of subscribers without uploading a single video. With such a number of subscribers, once the user posts a video it’s guaranteed to provide a very high amount of views even if it’s not very appealing.

Scamming such as this just ruins the community. There are a lot of users out there putting in countless hours of work into their youtube videos and aren’t getting the same results as someone who simply came up with a good Facebook group name. The worst part is, the youtube “terms and conditions” states nothing about it. Technically it’s perfectly allowed.

How you can prevent this from happening to you. This scam only works on users that have their web browsers automatically sign them into youtube so the link can sign them in without verification. If you frequently join Facebook groups and do not wish to be part of this youtube community destruction please don’t allow your web browser to automatically log you into youtube.
