Alphabetic Discoveries and The Bible! (The Letter T)
How is the Bible sectionized? Is there a way to find parallels easier? Read about these "Alphabetic Discoveries." The Cross means more to you than you think!
In the early nineties God revealed something to me about the Hebrew Alphabet that has blessed my Bible Studies ever since. I have seen something similar (though not same) on the net since. I was looking up the meaning of the word “Bethlehem” and realized that it meant “house of bread.” The “Beth” meant “house.” I saw the connection that Jesus is the “Bread of Life.” On another occasion I saw that Psa. 119 had the word “Beth” in the second section and I noted that the twenty-two sections of that Psalm were the twenty-two letters of the Hebrew alphabet. “Beth” the Hebrew “B” was also a word that meant “bread.” I discovered that various psalms, the last chapter of Proverbs and most of Lamentations were written in an alphabetic fashion that was lost in translation. Each verse starts with a successive letter of the Hebrew alphabet. (This is true of Psa. 9,10,25,34,37,119,145 etc). The search was then on to see whether the other letters also meant something. This article will deal only with the most important of those letters – the last or twenty-second letter of the Hebrew alphabet – the letter “T” which is called “Tau” or “Tav.” I soon discovered that the Bible is sectionized according to the themes of these twenty-two letters and then the cycle begins again so that chapter 22 corresponds with chapter 44 and 66 and so on.
The twenty-second letter “Tau” or “Tav” means “cross.” Think of Psa. 22:1. It gives us the words of Jesus on the cross! It says:
“My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?”
Check Genesis 22. It tells us that a man named Abraham whose name means “father of a multitude” was about to offer his son as a sacrifice and then a ram was caught in the thickets and God asked him to kill the ram instead of his son. Is that not symbolic of Jesus dying in our place?
Another parallel of the cross story in Gen. 22 is in Psa. 44, a multiple of 22:
Psa. 44:22 “Yea, for thy sake are we killed all the day long; we are counted as sheep for the slaughter.”

This is a very insightful and informative article. This is very unique information I’ve never gotten from anywhere, in my tens of years of Bible-Study. You are a great Bible Scholar. May the Lord bless you and guide you and you continue to serve Him.

I always love your articles on the Bible. Many things are hidden in the Bible such as the book of Esther, which means hidden, and where God is never mentioned in the book. Keep up the work – I love it!
