Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 – Disturbing Content Notice [info]
Details on the MW3 content filter.
Upon starting up Black Ops, players were asked if they wanted to disable mature content. If they said yes, strong language, blood, and violent cutscenes were removed. However, in MW3, this is not the case.
Similar to MW2, the Disturbing Content Filter only removes a small part of the game. It does not censor language, violence, or even blood. MW2’s filter removed the mission “No Russian” which was a terrorist mission involving the killing of hundreds of innocent civilians. However, in MW3, it’s not a whole mission. It’s just a cutscene.
In the cutscene, an innocent child is killed in an unexpected truck bombing. If you wish to see this cutscene, please see the video below. Please be warned that this video may be offensive and is only embedded in this article for a better understanding of the Disturbing Content Filter.
If you are looking to censor language, you should keep in mind that you can go to Options and mute character voices from there. While you won’t understand the story, there will be no harsh dialogue (or ANY dialogue for that matter). And when playing Special Ops or Multiplayer, there isn’t any profanity to begin with, so that’s not a problem. But, blood and gore cannot be censored in any way. That’s because it’s war.
Anyway, that should clear up some questions. I apologize if I rambled or was unclear. Please feel free to drop a comment below and like this article. Thanks for reading.
