My notes while listening to Radiolingua’s Coffee Break French (CBF) Lesson one.
INTRODUCTION
Le grand jour est arrivé – the big day is here (luh-gran-zhoor-e-tari-vay)
Est-ce que tu y prêt – Are you ready? (Es-kuh-tu-wee-pret)
Mais tu ne parles pas français – But you do not speak French? (meh-tu-ne-par-luh-pah-fron-say)
Le Français authentique – authentic French (luh-fron-say-o-ton-teek)
On y va commencer – Let’s begin
LESSON 1
Oui – yes (wee)
Non – no (hold your nose and say, nohh)
très facile – very easy (trreh-fa-seel)
Ça va? – how are you (sa-vah)
Bien – well (byah)
Merci – thanks/thank you (mehrr-xsee)
Ça va bien, merci – It’s going well, thanks (sa-vah-byah-mehrr-xsse)
très bien – very good (trreh-byah)
Et toi? – and you? (Eh-twah)
très – very (trreh)
Ça va très bien, merci – Things are going very well, thanks (Sa-vah-treeh-byah-mehrr-xsee)
Excellent! – Excellent! (Eks-suh-loh)
Ça ne va pas/Ça va pas – Things aren’t going well (Sa-nuh-vah-pah/Sa-vah-pah)
Colloquial : Je suis une forme – (lit. I am in form) – I am well/I am in good form (zhuh-sweez-uhn-forrm)
Je suis fatigue – I am tired (zhuh-swee-fa-tee-gay)
à la prochaine – until next time (Ah-lah-proh-shen)
