Dave is The Best Name in The English Language
All other names fail to compare when we think of the name Dave and its many wonderful uses and combination with descriptions and jobs.
David is a Biblical name satisfying religious needs to give kids a name of that nature, it is a strong name, and a proud one. It can be shorted to “Dave” thereby shedding its religious overtones and making it a lighter, more fun, name. It fits well with basic nicknames or job titles.
It fits well with any personality type or physicality.
Emo Dave, Fat Dave, One Legged Dave, White Dave, Ugly Dave.
Everyone can be named Dave. It works for every career path, think about it:
If he decides to work as a blacksmith, shoeing horses, Farrier Dave.
If he takes up working in a bank, Banker Dave.
A painter, Artist Dave.
No matter what this person does the job title will fit perfectly with the name.
Newscaster Dave, Funeral Director Dave, Dave the Bum, Biker Dave, Dave the Thug.
Heck it even works for furniture, Sideboard Dave, Dave the Table, Toilet Dave.
Let us face it if you give your kid a name like Micheal, they are not going to have the versatility, One Legged Micheal just does not have the same ring to it. Funeral Director Jesus just does not work, and Banker Bob just sounds silly.
So if you want your child (boy or girl) to grow up to be what ever they want, give them a truly versatile name, like Dave.

You may be on to something here. Dave doesn’t rhyme with anything sordid, and as far as I know it hasn’t been used as a byword or as a slang term for any body parts. It is versatile and unsullied.
Cute poem, very clever.
