Theodore Roosevelt said “ we have room for that one language but that is the English Language, for the intend to see that the crucible terms our people out as Americans, of American Nationality and we must have the one flag and one language.” That must be the language of the declaration of the independence of Washington’s farewell, address of Lincoln’s Gettysburg speech and second inaugural. It was against this background that the movement to make English, the official language of the century arouse. After America liberate the Philippines in July 4, 1946. then came the Thomasites, who were the first. American teachers used English as a medium of instructions until later was adopted as a second language of the Philippines. That concept of English as an important language not only in commerce and in education has not diminish. Although in course of time has been affected.

Just as English is important in America, it is more important in 3rd countries like the Philippines. Incorporate America, in business officer, English is the only accepted spoken language. Lately, at the Ladies Professional Gulf Association, English is a must. In the Nursing Course, it is requirement to pass the NCLEX, both oral and written to be a part of the profession. The Importance of the English Language is recognized not only in 3rd countries like the Philippines but throughout the world. Having it goes to show that the beautiful language that has improve our relationship with the greatest country in the world., not only in United States of America but to other countries. As we all know Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Singapore and Thailand send their students to the Philippines to learn the English Language.

And for all of the above reasons and facts could we say them that the English Language is the Prime Mover of Prospective Progress in this Globally Competitive Setting.
