Designed by Conviron Altatis.

SPEAKING TACTIC:

Don’t shock your listener with an exhilarating news. It does work sometimes but chances are, the audience might not be able to absorb it. Also, the surprised audience tend to lose their excitement very quickly. If this happens, they will be bored throughout the story. Start by giving them a bad news. It must be related, of course, to the good news. The bad news introduction must be blunt. Then, after capturing the audience’s attention, surprise them with the good news.

SPEAKING TASK:

Tell about a happy event in your country using the bad news-good news technique.

1.      Set a sad mood by reporting the bad news. (VOCABULARY GUIDE: never, discouraged, give up, hopeless, disheartened, bored)

2.      Twist the story with surprise good news. Also, this must be the longer part of the story as it is the climax. (VOCABULARY GUIDE: stun, exhilarating, dream, unprecedented, incredible, ecstatic, euphoric)

MOOD: Happy

TOPIC: HAPPY EVENTS IN YOUR COUNTRY

SPEAKING TIPS:
