Free Translation – Free Translation Online

Many Internet users are bilingual, or even fluent in several languages. Most, however, only speak and read one language or dialect. Until recently, when we wanted to read a story, or research a topic or product online we would have to do so in our mother tongue.

In the past, it was necessary to invest in expensive computer software programs to translate articles written in other languages. These programs were often language specific, meaning that they could only translate from a single language in to another. They were usually very expensive, and the results not very good, or at least grammatically rather poor. The reader could understand the ideas being presented, but only in a very general way.

Now, however, many popular Internet browsers and websites offer free translation online. Most will now translate from many languages into a large number of other languages. This does not mean all are equal, however, in their accuracy. 

While free translation online has become quite common, the user is still left with the task of trying several free online translation sites and services to determine which produce the most accurate results from his or her language into the other languages they are most often seeking free online translation from. Like any product or service, some do a better job than others. There is, as of yet, no universal translator online, free or otherwise.

Most recently, Chinese, Arabic, and Farsi translation online has improved dramatically.
