Getting to Know The French

The "must know" about French people. It is worth the time to gain knowledge about them before you get to experience it yourself.

French and pleasure are interrelated for many years now. It’s so ironic to hear that France is known as a nation of complainers when, in fact, they are known to be as sweet as their “je t’aime.” However, pleasure isn’t always reachable. There are times that one has to undergo frustration. Living with it is a good skill that has to be mastered when in France – the fascinating yet complex nation.

There are points to understand French people. These are things we basically need to know to have a good conversation and/or relationship as we encounter them. For instance, French people are known to be Monsieur Right. Oui. You got it right. They mostly think they are right, but that isn’t the reason that they are unique. Of course, we of different nations think of something right about ourselves, but French people also think that others are the opposition trying to prove them wrong. So don’t forget their je pense, donc je suis.

In connection, French people believe that saying je t’aime most of the time is appropriate. Aren’t they wrong about that? That is also one trademark you can connect to the French people – obsessed with amour. I could still remember how my French boyfriend overreacted when I missed saying je t’aime in a moment he expected.  That was totally ridiculous! We had a conversation to tackle the very small issue but his race reflected very well. It ended up with he was right and I was wrong even if I explained there were many different ways of creatively expressing amour. One more thing, they do believe French is the language of love. I tried to contradict to the idea just to seek his insight and just as I expected. Why not? Who in the world wouldn’t want to speak French? So, I started to learn French on my own but experienced how he took a pee of my trying hard accent. Though there were times when I noticed he felt the pleasure when I tried to speak their language maybe because of the idea that it’s evidence that people love to speak French rather than English. That was the moment I noticed how superior French would feel. They would persuade you to use their language. But be careful because their grammar is a lot more complicated than English and they are even proud of it. Moreover, the spellings and pronunciation of their words are as complicated as their minds. Try to speak these: Baisse-toi. Baise-toi. But make sure you know how to use these phrases before visiting France. Also, they do love to take control of all aspects. So they always make sure their language doesn’t change unless they say so.
