How Do We Make English Sound?
English is in my opinion, a great language.
Why do we make it sound not so great?
English is the most defined language I know. I mean, since when do you hear a Spanish-Speaking person say “Knead the bread”? They say “Work the bread”.
Our language is confusing to many, but once you learn it, you realize it’s actually a more practical language to use. We come off different languages, but in my oppinion, English is the most defined, spectacular language out there.
But, why? Why do we make our language sound so inferior?
Shouldn’t we say “Are you sure you want that?” instead of “r u sur u want tht?”?
It may be easier to say it that way, but when I see other languages that have accent marks and other things, learn them, then see them on the Internet, they do much of the same.
But ours we shorten so much to where if you don’t know the language very well, you can’t understand a thing anyone is saying!
Even I, many times, have to say aloud what someone types to understand what they might be attempting to say. How much dignity is there in a language that was once great, and is now completely unrefined? Not very much.
And sure, you may think to yourself “Well, I only type like that, I don’t really SPEAK that way, it’s just easier.” It surprises me how people say that, but many of them still can’t spell correctly. They even speak in “Easy-Language”, using acronyms and many things.
Leave that for the people who basically live on the Computers. The Computer is a Gaming Device, sure, but let’s show dignity in all aspects of our life. Not sound like some nerd on the computer who believes that his life goal is to reach “Lv 136 on RuneScape”.
The entire idea of this topic was simply to inspire the few of you, to type, Spell, use correct Grammar, and make our language rise instead of fall.
