How to Have Lasting Relationships

In this cruel world, to survive one needs the company of near and dear ones. Man is a social animal and always tries to build relations in order to express himself. If there would be nobody in one’s life what would happen to his emotions and sentiments? All such feelings would be buried deep in the heart and a person would go mad with suffocation of emotions.

But with relations, comes all relatives of love and affection i.e. hatred, jealousy, envy, anger etc. Man is bound in different kinds of relations constantly throughout his life. All these relations have different angles be it with parents, brothers, sisters, friends or relatives. As we grow, the role of emotions and attachment plays a significant role in building and maintaining a relation. More attached we are more tension of maintaining the same standard of depth. Many times close relations between parents, siblings or friends create a sense of discomfort over petty things. Misunderstanding and lack of proper communication leads to strain in relations.

Our life is too short to hold grudges and continue fights with the people we love and care for. We cannot afford to lose beautiful moments of life in the company of our near and dear ones just for the sake of some stupid assumptions and thoughts. Any relation, just like a cement concrete building should be long lasting and strong.

What is the secret of having long lasting relation? Definitely, love and trust for each other. One must respect other person’s thoughts and views. It should not happen that one is dominating and thrusting his views on other. If this happens, then a relation goes off very soon. Respect other’s individual identity and show through your feelings that you care for him. A small gesture of action is enough to show that you wish to carry the relation to a long distance. One must try to mould oneself as relations are very precious and we do not get another chance to rebuild a relation once broken.
