How to Learn Sign Language Fast

The best way to learn sign language fast is to find a deaf person to befriend or watch sign language videos.  Sign Language is not a hard language to learn.  If you really put a lot of effort into learning the language there’s no reason why you can’t be fluent in the language in a matter of a year or so.

The best way to befriend a deaf person is to attend social gatherings where the deaf meet.  Do a search in your area or outside of your area for deaf services centers.  You can easily volunteer at these centers.  You can also inquire about attending deaf outings.

Another good way to find deaf people is to take a sign language class at your local community college.  There, you can learn the language and participate in extra credit activities that involve the deaf.   The professor of the class will know about all the deaf gatherings in the area. 

It’s very important that you view sign language videos as much as possible if you don’t have a deaf friend.   Viewing sign language videos is just as effective as having a deaf friend.   So don’t get discouraged if you don’t have one.
