Language Development and Cognition
This is a basic look at the foundations of learning languages and why they are important. Also, about the development of our thinking as people.
Particular factors our around us and help us to be intelligent. These are: experience with the physical world, the more you experience the physical world the better your cognitive development becomes. Should I skateboard for the first time? Just try it. Anyone can do what they want. The other is social experience. Eat with people, learn from them, understand them and your cognitive development will grow.
We see that there are primary stages of development.
1.Sensorimotor (0-2): Object permanence
2.Preoperations (2 to 7): Perception dominates and language ability develops.
a.Symbolism becomes apparent.
i.Formal operations- operates logically from concrete materials
ii.Conservation- learning about parts adding up to the big picture
This is an extra insight. We see that as parents we must emphasis on particular areas in life. Age is one of them. It is vital for child development to be reaching it peak during the best time for them to develop. However, we must not forget that as we consider all of the above we must do it with a balance of other parts of life. That is why God has given us choice, will, and options. We must take them to our advantage and spend a life time making schemes that present a foundational development for ourselves and others.
