Learn Turkish in a simple uncomplicated way with these hints and tips to get you started.

Learn Turkish  the easy way by setting yourself simple  targets and objectives. A majority of people who start out to learn Turkish give up half way through because they say it is too complicated. However with time, dedication and a few helpful hints and tips,  it can be done.

1 – Learn Turkish Alphabet. The Turkish language is phonetic so simple by learning to pronounce the alphabet, you will be able to say words correctly.  If you do this and then read a Turkish book or rent a DVD with Turkish subtitles,  it will aid in learning Turkish.

2 – Learn Turkish Grammar. If you understand the grammar first then learning Turkish is quite simple. Get yourself one note book and make yourself some tables on tenses. For example  past simple, present, present continuous, future etc. Each table should include the six people tenses which is Ben, sen, O, Biz, Siz and onlar. Once you understand how each tense is formed, you will be able to take virtually any new verb and apply it in many forms.

3 – Learn Turkish words. Every morning when you wake up, choose up to five words from a Turkish book or the dictionary.  Through out the day keep reciting those words and their meanings in your head. Every week you should of learnt anywhere from 14 to 35 new words.

4 – Listen to Turkish.  If you are in Turkey then this is quite easy, if not then try and rent some DVDs or buy a CD on learning the language. Get used to hearing it and speak it frequently to yourself. Over time it will come naturally.

5 - Learn Turkish in time. Be realistic of time. The Turkish language is not going to come to you within a month. To be fluent will take approximately a year if you put time and dedication into it. I found one hour a day studying means the information stays in my head and I do not suffer from information overload.
