Pig Latin: The Nay Way
Learn to speak both forms of pig latin! The simple, and the nay way!!
Pig Latin has been around for many years. It was and is a secret language for children, teens, and even some parents. A secret way to translate even the simplest message to a friend without letting others who aren’t in on the secret know what you are talking about.
There are two ways to speak pig latin, the simple and the nay. The nay version is a harder form and it’s great to use when people who are familiar with the simple version are around.
The Simple Version
Speaking pig latin is actually very simple and so is understanding it, but it will take practice at first. Don’t get discouraged!
The rule to the simple version is simply take the first letter of the word you want to say and put it at the end and add ‘ay’. So the word bottom would translate into ottombay. It works for words that have 2 or more letters in them. When you are trying to say a one letter word simply say the word in plain english.
owNay ouYay anCay tartSay peakingSay igPay atiLay!!
(Now you can start speaking pig lating!!)
The Nay Version
Once you are familiar with the simple version you can move on to the Nay version. The Nay version is confusing if you aren’t simple pig latin fluent.
To speak the nay version you just add nay to the beginning and the end of a translated pig latin word. So the word bottom is translated to ottombay and then nay is added so it become nayottombaynay!
It seems long, but when spoken takes just as much time to say as the word bottom.

(So now you can start speaking the Nay version!)

interesting post. first time for me to hear about pig Latin, but i know for a fact that students in our school do have a somewhat similar coded language spoken between friends.

Wow, great article. Can teach to mom and brother so that little ears don’t understand what we don’t want them too (until of course they learn it themselves) ; )
