Proud be a Filipino

My personal opinions why should I love Philippines.

Do you know Philippines? Or rather are you Filipino? Really? Oh yeah, so you are a fellow “kababayan?” Oh what’s up? I know you are from the “pearl of the East”. It seems like Filipinos are scattered in this world huh? Do you know the status of our country worldwide? Oh come on! cheer up! though there are downsides, Upsides overpowered them.

Oh anyway, where have you been last Miss universe pageant? yes, our pretty Filipina Venus won the 4th placer. Any comment regarding this? Many filipinos say it was almost her time but the Q & A brought her to fall. Oh, not really that,  She won after all.

Come, gather people ’cause I’ll tell you things you should know. I live here in the Philippines, actually a student here in luzon, the biggest and one of the 7,107 island in the R.P. Whenever foreigner come here, they usually first see how people here are hospitable. yes, that’s true. Oh my god, Am i bragging? wish I’m not. Thank you people. Have you eaten “balot”? It is a boiled egg with the embryo in it. They say it has to do with strengthening our bones. Actually it has good taste so I can’t say it is an exotic one.

I can proudly say that we Filipinos are rich in good manners, and customs like saying “po” and “opo” to elders and strangers and “pagmano”. Do you practice them?

I shouldn’t forget this one, the long christmas season. Today is September right? We call this month the start of christmas. Yeah, the “ber” months is the start of long countdown to the birth of our saviour.

Who in the world doesn’t recognize Charice, apl de of of Black eye peas, Arnel Pineda of Journey, Lea Salongga and Pacquiao? If you don’t, you are from the 19th century. Whenever you ride in a hot summer day, you can see “halo halo” vendosr in every street corner, that’s a fact! yum, sounds sweet. it is a combination of fruits. wanna taste it?

If ever you don’t have a ride, try to hire a jeepney/jeep or tricycle to send you anywhere you want. The fare is cheap anyway. Below in the photo, at the left is a jeepney and the other one is a tricycle.

Hey friend, Do you want to try “Pilipinas?” ability to learn English is okay enough but how about learning tagalog, the national language? Do you know that in everyday living, tagalog can be traced that has words from English and Spanish?
