Some French Learning Tips

I have been taking French classes for quite a while and I can help with some things this is mostly about verb conjugation.

First let’s go over subjects like first person singular is “je” means I “tu” means you “il(he) and elle(she)” means he, she, or it “nous” means we “vous” means you (plural) “ils(m) elles(f)” means they when you are talking about a group and there are guys and girls you always say ils even if there is just one guy. Here is a chart of the

In French every verb is conjugated depending on what the subject in that sentence is.

for example ”parler” means to speak so if i want to say “i am speaking” I would say “je parle” there is no r since the verb is conjugated also am is not translated into french so you would not say am in french.

Most verbs are “er” verbs that means they end in an “er” and they are just like most other verbs. When conjugating “er” verbs the endings change so they would look like this parle instead of parler

  • for ‘je’ you take off the ‘er’ and add an ‘e’           parle
  • for ‘tu’ you take off the ‘er’ and add an ‘es’         parles
  • for ‘il and elle’ you take off the ‘er’ and add an ‘e’           parle
  • for ‘nous’ you takes off the ‘er’ and add an ‘ons’             parlons
  • for’ vous’ you take off the ‘er’ and add an ’ez’          parlez
  • for ‘ils and elles’ you take off the ‘er’ and add an ‘ent’        parlent

Some verbs though are called irregular verbs which i will write about in a different article but they all have their own special conjugations
