Speak Better English, Fabio

England players are having issues of communication with Fabio Capello.

Fabio Capello has been told by English FA bosses to brush up on his English. The Italian is still struggling to speak the English language after nearly two years worth of practice. FA chiefs have spoken to him about it after some England players were complaining that Capello cannot articulate his feelings in training and team talks.

He stunned them after the recent victory over Hungary by walking into the dressing room and saying simply “Well done, good win, good win” before leaving. England stars have also come out of team meetings with mixed messages because Capello has yet to break the language barrier. He still relies on an interpreter to help him out and his relationship with his the players are an uneasy truce.

Managing Director of Club England Adrian Bevington made it clear last week that he expects better communication between players and managers in the future. Capello’s fellow countryman Carlo Ancelotti was conversational in English within weeks of joining Chelsea.

Capello will name his squad for the Euro 2012 qualifiers against Bulgaria and Switzerland next weekend. Hopefully by then he can speak better English.
