Subtly Appropriate
by When you look at the English language, there are a lot of things that don’t make sense, but what could make more sense than that one letter?
There are a lot of things about the English language that make it one of the most difficult languages to learn. Many of those things are letters that are not pronounced, remaining silent, but there is one silent letter that when you stop to think about it, does indeed make a lot of sense.
That letter is … the ‘B’ in the word subtle. A silent letter that goes unnnoticed in an adjective that basically describes something that goes unnoticed.
I don’t want to appear persnickety, but I thought it was important to point out this interesting fact.
