What’s in a Name?

A different way of interpretation.

What’s in a name?

You could possibly determine which part of the world you come from. You could pin-point the culture you belong to. You could, perhaps, tell what accent you would speak with. You can tell the color of the skin? You would be subtly reminded of a sad joke made up on the type of “people” I belong to. You can tell how my eyes look, the color of my hair too? You would want to know my surname to know which sub-division of religion I belong to...

Why do you do that?

You want to know all about the person with a name. The mental security you get with the facts behind a name. Does that set you apart from the person holding the name. Perhaps, you try to relate to the person with a small hope of belonging in the familiarity of the name? What is in a name?

You could be

Abby, Akhtar, Alisha, Anu, Angelo..? (A- the first alphabet)
Mariam, Mona, Mira, Michelle..? (M – the middle in the series)
Zakaria, Zara, Zemus, Zelda..? (Z- the last alphabet)

Next time you judge a person based on their name. Think twice. You have evolved more than that. Please do not resolve to cheap thinking and end of the day, we are all just human. We all belong to just one kind, and that is – the human kind.

A name of choice called on the cold bitter morning.
Who shall answer to such a tone that means ones heart of being.
beat slow like the drum a name only in whisper
Call me as to my pledge of life to thee In the sky written on clouds of soft repose a name Not of you or I or butterfly on wings it rolls off the toung a name
Sholow sweet like honey in tast a name breathless given by god
on the tables hungered meal a name we all bare!

Nice article Kaavs. You’re right, there’s nothing in a name. Mind you, in England I’ll wager anyone called Nigel, is going to be a computer nerd.

There is more than that to ‘’WHATS IN A NAME’’ simple QS

Each name has a certain vibration of phonetics
The sound is carried by waves
    From your mouth
    To the other person’s ears
It then translates into electric vibrations
Through the means of three bones
    Inside the ear
    Hammer anvil and stirrup
    As per their shape

These bones take on the vibrations
    Of the drum
    The electric currents
    Transform to sound
    Inside ones brain.

Call a guy a person ROSY
    Observe the smile
    On his her face
    Irrespective of the fact
Whether the person is at all rosy

    Then call him a name’ Bloody;
    See how his blood boils.

    So name and name number
    Must be in harmony
    To enjoy the meaning of

The study of Names is an Interesting one indeed, some names are “spot on” while others are not. Good article.
