Brown vs. Board
Impact of the Supreme Court Case, Brown vs. The Board of Education.
The case of Brown vs. The Board of education had a great impact on the United States. That case was the major events that helped desegregate schools. It also shined a light on people’s interpretation of the Fourteenth Amendment. I would like to think that this case started a “revolution” in a since. In the following paragraphs, I will explain why this event was major for America The desegregation of schools in the south was a huge turning point in our county’s history. This decision by the Supreme Court exiled the “separate but equal” cliché from all public schools. They were convinced that white children were getting better education opportunities than black children. Before this trial started, people’s interpretation of the Fourteenth Amendment was based on there opinion that colored people were not equal.
Besides the segregation of schools, Black people couldn’t sit on the bus, eat in white only restaurants or drink from white only fountains just to name a few. I believe that a revolution, not just a movement, was started from this trail. From the Little Rock Nine to the bus boycotts and sit-ins, African Americans made strides to insure that “equal rights for all” was not just a part of an amendment, but also a way of life. In conclusion, Brown vs. The Board of education made a big impact on the United States. The desegregation of public schools was the result of this court ruling. It also clarified the interpretation of ones idea of equal rights for all.
