Fishing Restrictions on Moreton Bay
Fishing.
There certainly should be more restrictions on Moreton Bay as the population of fish is gradually decreasing one by one (one by one). The authorities should enforce fishing restrictions more tightly and maybe if it goes that far, with force. If the fishing continues, very soon will be nothing to fish and there will be no more fish to eat and fish. Do not forget that fish is tasty and part of many Australian meals, from canned tuna to gourmet red smoked salmon. I bet that everybody in Australia has eaten fish at least on one occasion of their life.
If the all fishes are gone, then there will be no more fishes to eat for other marine life and animals and many of the sea creatures will die of starvation. The fishermen will also have nothing to fish, even though they fished all the fish (the blood of many is on their hands) in the first place. So it will be all the fishermen’s fault that all the fishes and other marine life are gone. So if the marine life that eat the fishes die, then what about the sea creatures that eat the marine life that eat the fishes, they will die, along with whatever else that is affected, but in the end the humans will suffer. Because the absence of fishes will cause a chain reaction destroying many ecosystems and disrupting many food-chains. It’ll be all the fishermen’s fault.
Also, in the case of an apocalyptic bout of Global Warming, the fishes will be the only dominant species, and they will have to evolve to fight bigger predators and the loss of land, so in the end they’ll probably look like a shark-human type hybrid in a few million years, but only if the aliens don’t attack first. The restrictions of the fishing in Moreton Bay and of everywhere else should be enforced better, much, much better. Every now and then, if the fishermen don’t stop, have fines. Another option would be to wait for the fishes to grow back in numbers for more fishermen to come, and then they grow back in numbers again and so on. Maybe have fishing hours, like 6 pm to 4 pm on weekdays, and 6 pm to 8 pm on weekends.
Oil spill, dirty beaches, dead marine life, these words mean the result of overfishing. You’re thinking, no that’s just an oil spill, but what was the boat that spilt oil doing? That’s right, 99% the boat was probably fishing. The fuel from all the boats can and probably might kill all the marine life in the seas. These fishermen are the bane and death of us all. So when the fishes get contaminated, people eat the fishes, and fall sick and chances are that they will die. For a side note, if all the fishes are gone, then what’ll happen to the tourists, they disappear exactly like the fishes. Moreton Bay was always a place to snorkel and see the fishes, but what if there are no fishes. No fishes, no tourists.
The fish are the primary ingredient in fish meals and if they are all gone, then many people will miss the tastiness of fish in their meals. Also if the all the fish are gone which also kills many others, then the fishermen will have nothing to fish and therefore lose their jobs. In this tough economic crisis or not, it is very important to keep your job and earn your keep. The fish shall…stay.
