Is Capital Punishment Wrong?
Is it wrong to kill another human being? When you look at a historic event like the twin towers, deep inside people have a desire for revenge. Experiencing someone kill a child of yours gives us a brokenness that cant be resolved it seems without justice being served. Doing what we want to do, and what we should do are two different things.

I would like to start off by telling a story. In a town there was a very cruel but powerful tyrant that lived outside the village with his mighty army. Every year the Tyrant would take his army come into the town to conquer the land. A long time ago an agreement was made that the villagers would be spared if they offered a yearly sacrifice to the tyrant. The sacrifice would be one of the innocent villagers every year. So every year around the same time the tyrant would go through the village find a young child and drag them into the middle of the town square. The Tyrant would then, give the orders and his soldiers would behead the child in front of the towns people. After the ritual was completed the tyrant would order his men to spare the villagers and go off on their journey back home. The villagers were all against these ruthless murders but no one dared stand up to the tyrant, and their army. The family members of the victims were the only people to ever put up a struggle with the soldiers. The family members would kick and scream and usually require armed guards during the ceremony. After the soldiers would leave the victims family would cry out curses on the villagers and call every one of them cowards. But after several days of grief the town would be back to normal it was almost as if the event never happened.
If you feel like capital punishment is wrong then there is a lesson for you in this story. Most people are strongly against certain things but never do anything about it. People only taken action when they are personally effected. I know there are many people out there that feel capital punishment is wrong but I guarantee there will probably be one out of 5,000 people that write their congressman. Where are the voices calling out shame on the lawmakers? Where are the courageous people standing in the center of the arena demanding justice. What role do you play in this story?. Are you the villagers who do nothing, or are you the family members standing in the center of town letting their voice be heard. If you are one of the many who do nothing this is just like saying smoking is wrong with a cigarette in your mouth.

Seeing as you also wrote an article against abortion, I’m assuming you believe in “the sanctity of life.” So what about the lives of the people that you’re so eager to kill in the name of “justice”?
Hypocrite.

Some strong points made in this article. I don’t like to straddle the fence but, i think it would be more of a punishment to spend the rest of your life in prison, than to be put away. What bugs me the most is all this appeal junk that is costing taxpayers billions, so an indiviual can have ten appeals for what he has already been convicted of. Some very good points brought up in this piece.
