Knife Crime
Growing Knife crimes must bring harsher sentences.
We cannot ignore the terrible knife attacks that have happened in recent days.
In Wales, Geraint David Evans is currently in court charged with the murder of, father of two, Father Paul Bennett, knifed to death in the grounds of his church, St. Fagan’s in Trecynon near Aberdare.
Police are also looking for two hooded youths in East London after 15-year-old Adam Regis was stabbed in the leg. He was taken to Newham General Hospital where he died 90 minutes later.
These incidents are 2 examples of the multitude of attacks that are a growing problem in our society. More children are carrying knives, either in a gang or for protection from attacks.
The government can no longer ignore the severity of knife crime. How many more casualties does there need to be before something is done? Of course no law can prevent somebody carrying a knife and stabbing somebody. What can be done is to give appropriate sentences that relate to the crime. Too many times criminals have been given lenient sentences for serious crimes. It’s time the government was on the side of the victim rather than the perpetrator. Tariffs on sentencing should be scrapped and life should mean life.

This is a really good article. Knife crime is really bad in the United States too. I agree that the punishment should harsher and maybe people would stop stabbing people so much.

The only true cure is to allow citizens the right to arm themselves, while at the same time, denying criminals the right to have arms – and sending them to prison when they are found to have them.
Over the years I have had to show a pistol twice to protect myself from harm – but have not had to fire it, nor did I even have to actually point it – as the mere knowledge that I had the means of self-defense settled the matter.
