Sheila Artiste is breaking into the literary world with her bestselling novel and has become the object of much attention, but when fans begin projecting her writing onto her, she becomes weary of the attention that won’t stop and soon finds herself being stalked and in grave danger.
What initially seems to be excitement for her attention quickly escalates to problems in her personal and professional life, as people begin shunning her and treating her with a distrusting eye. She confides the bizarre circumstances to her best friend and they devise a way to shelter her from the stalkers, when just as things seemed to be getting better, Sheila is mugged at knifepoint just like written in her novel. The police offer her assistance and investigate to find a cultlike group operating in the city, when Sheila’s friend falls prey to the far-reaching influence of the group, and even she begins to avoid her.
Determined to continue with her writing, her publisher hires a team of highly trained paramilitary bodyguards to fend off the stalkers and protect her, as the city sees chases and skirmishes through its dark alleys and subway tunnels. In writing her next novel she realizes that the cult somehow knows what she is writing in her home, and fears an attempt will be made on her life. In great haste she begins rewriting large portions of the book, for fear that the attempt might be made before she can change the course of the cult’s actions. As she becomes a recluse to her writing she discovers that the Police and her bodyguards have been compromised by the cult, and that the cult’s influence is much further reaching than she anticipated. Left with only a few people by her side she holes up in a cabin in the woods to finish the book, when a blistering storm breaks and she tries to finish the last few pages by candlelight. She calculates that it’s only a matter of hours before the cult’s actions should be diverted away from her, when the cottage is attacked in the darkness of the rainy, windy night.
As they defend the cottage time is ticking down to zero point which is when the attack should stop. Will zero point come in time or will the cottage be overtaken with Sheila falling victim to the obsessed stalkers.
