The Kenya Law society has started a nationwide campaign to collect views on the applicants of the country’s chief justice and his deputy.
The Law Society of Kenya [LSK] has launched a nationwide campaign to collect views on applicants for the posts of Chief Justice and Deputy Chief Justice.
LSK National Chairman Kenneth Akide said they expected to collect views also from members of the public so as to get their take on the suitable applicants for the two posts.
Akide further said LSK and members of the public are expected to give views on applicants for the posts of Supreme Court and judges of the high court.
Akide who speaking at Mombasa law court accompanied by the local regional chairman Mohamed Balala, said the information given to LSK on the candidates would be treated with confidentiality.
‘’The Society move is in line with chapter six of the constitution on leadership and leadership integrity’’ Akide.
He said the information collected will be applied only for the purposes of assisting the Judicial Service Commission [JSC] in attaining its objective of getting the best candidates to the posts.
