Non-Smoking Laws
There are becoming more and more laws against smokers. I feel like I am up against a wall with no way out. Does anyone else feel this way?
Smokers in most places cannot even go out to dinner and eat and relax and visit with friends and have a smoke. I have already started banning restaurants where I cannot smoke at. I feel that if I cannot enjoy myself and relax then they do not need my money. If everyone would ban together then maybe once places started shutting down and people may be out of work then just maybe the government would say that they need to rethink the laws.
Truck stops are now becoming non-smoking. Truckers cannot get out of their trucks and relax and enjoy themselves hopefully with fuel prices and these new laws maybe they will ban together and strike. Maybe that would get everyone’s attention. There would be no food, clothing, gas or anything at all.
Don’t get me wrong here I believe that non-smokers have rights too but why should they have all of them and smokers have none.
We as Americans are supposed to have freedom of choice but anymore all of our choices are being made for us by lobbyist groups. I do not want to live like everyone else does I want to be able to live like I want too.

I completely agree. It is getting redicules the way the people are letting a few people in goverment jobs tell us what our rights as american citizens consist of. I agree with smoking and non-smoking areas in all public places. You have a choice then to be in a smoke free area or not. “AT LEAST IT IS YOUR CHOICE”.

i do not agree. i think that smoking should be banned from ALL public places. second hand smoke is very harmful to the people around. people have the right to say that they dont want to be harmed by the stranger next to them that chooses to smoke in a public facility.

I agree with krystal. smoking should be banned EVERYWHERE because #1 it is very harmful to the smokers body, and #2 it is harmful to everyone around you. sure, you can say that you have freedom of choice but under the core democratic values if you look in details,The Pursuit of Happiness says as long as you don’t interfere with others you have the right to seek happiness in your own way. but as far as i’m concerned, you are interfering with many people. you give your loved ones, friends, and the people around you second hand smoke, so you cant even argue that your not bothering anyone, because you are. heck, i wont even walk behing a smoker because im so afraid of developing health issuse. so would you like to contribute to the 53,000 secondhand smoke deaths every year? yeah, that’s what i thought.
oh and by the way, i’m 13 years old(hense the grammer) and i understand why smoking is terrible more than you do obviously.

I would rethink alot of the smoking laws arround now.
I do not think that a law againt is the way out. Smoking might kill alot of secondhand smokers, yes, but as for now, no one can be sertain that the second hand smoking really are the devil in this.
I think its getting to old with goverments all over the world, trying to sya what we can and cannot do as an individual. Smoking cources death, and smokers know that there is a real high chance they would die from it aswell.
I myself is getting sick and tired from hearing about all this. Life is a dangeroud thing! We all die from it in the end.
IF and just IF smokers are that much of a problem, i wouldent make laws stating where or where not you may or may not smoke. Instead you should ban smoking for good, and when you are at it, then ban cars aswell and the right to BBQ and so forth.
They simply blame the smokers for alot of things these days, and from what i know they can’t be sertain that smokers really are the course of second hand smoking. I guess a few studies show that you die from second hand smoking, and i can see how you tend to draw that conclution aswell. But really guys! If smoking is bad, try and think about all the cars running and all the BBQ burning aswell.
As a smoker myselv, i say BAN the damn thing, or don’t do a thing about it, and let the restaurants pubs and what ever choose if they do or do not want people to smoke there.
If the non smokers can’t handle a restaurant where smokers are, then stay away. If you are working at places where it is leagel to smoke, then you better start smoking or stop whining. You chose the place you wanted to work, the smokers didn’t.
And smokers just need to make some effort to care just alittle about people not smoking.
