Police Taser Gun Abuse

There has been some serious debate about the use of police tasers. All across America police officers abuse their authority by uncalled use of taser assaults. I had been living in another state at that time. I happen to be at the right place and the wrong time. I had been visiting a local convenient store that I shopped at every day. This particular store had a restaurant in it. I was single and eat there all the time. One night I had been doing my regular shopping and grabbing a bit to eat, when I was approached by the city police. They received a call about a black male in a red jacket carrying a gun. I happen to have a suede velvet jacket that resembled a red jacket. They were very professional with me. However, there was another shopper there in the restaurant part that had black jacket with red lining. When the police approached him, he began to flee. He ran in the store section of the business thinking he was going to get away. He was unaware that police officers were already questioning some else on that side, me. They tased him and made me get on the floor. With guns drawn on me, I explained to the officer that I was there shopping and getting something to eat and nothing else. They tased him. He was unquestionably subdued when I heard a female officer yell “turned it up!” and the officer that had tased him did just that turned it up. When the guns were drawn on me, it got into the cradle position because at first, I didn’t know what “turn it up!”meant. When they had him in hand cuffs and got him off the floor he was clearly dazed and his nose was bleeding. I find it best to mind my business when it comes to police officers but they are using these weapons of destruction to really wreak havoc on people. For whatever that guy chose to run it truly wasn’t a smart reason. Hearing the words “turn it up!” shouldn’t have come from another officer’s mouth. The officer that had used the taser should have been able to use adequate judgment, and determine what enough was. All across America, I’m sure that there are many unreported stories where officers abuse the taser guns. Many people are afraid to report it fearing a backlash from officers who choose to retaliate. We can sit back and believe that all law enforcement officers are angels of God. We can just look over it and say that’s good for the criminal. What happens when the person is you? I could have been me. That night I certainly fit the description. However I must have been spared by a force much higher and stronger than my intellect and reasonable strength could spare me. I truly believe that before officers are assigned taser guns they should submit to a polygrapgh test and get asked a wide range of questions dealing with but not limited to racial questions like have you ever use a racial slur? Do you feel that women have a place in the work force? How do you feel about male or female superiors etc… the answers to these questions are something I would like to hear before I would feel good about assigning any weapon that could be used to change someone life forever.
