Serranos From Brazil

Serranos is a municipality in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais. They are very religious here and the biggest symbol of the town is a Church.

At the time of the knights of the Serro in the early eighteenth century, trade between the towns of Ouro Preto and São João Del Rei emerged near the village of Aiuruoca then a traveler’s camp, in the same place later would be located in the current city of Serranos. Simple landing for drovers began to form, with the establishment of the first settlers, the primitive village they called the Camp of Tropes of Serro. With the construction of the first chapel dedicated to the Lady of Bonsucesso, the village has developed rapidly in 1840 the village was elevated to the seat of the Peace with the toponym of Good Success Serranos and apart of the municipality of Aiuruoca. At first agriculture was the economic activity of most prominent district. However, later, the advantages of cattle on their land has made this activity the main factor of economic Serranos, which in 1911 had appeared by that name.

In 1953 the district was elevated to municipality. The creation of the city was due to State Law consisting of two districts: the headquarters and the Seritinga transferred from City of Aiuruoca to which Serrano belonged until then.  The first City Council took office on January 29, 1955, and two days later, on January 31, was appointed the first Mayor. According to the territorial division of the state, set by the State Law dated December 12 1953 to prevail on the five-year period the City of Serranos if the judicial district of Aiuruoca. The founder of Serranos however is considered to João Del Rei Bridges.

Brazil today is still one of the countries with the highest number religious folks mostly Christian ones thanks to the amount of illiterate citizens that believe blindly what they are told to believe.
