Should Marijuana Be Legal?

When people think of marijuana, they think drugs, crime and the whole ten yards. The thought of it being legal terrifies people and I don’t know why. There are a lot of reasons why it should in fact be legal. I’ll go over those reasons.
Hemp: hemp is a resource that is made from marijuana. It can be used to make a number of things, primarily clothes and other fabrics. So if it were legal, we would have a whole new clothing industry right here in America. We wouldn’t have to buy those things from China anymore, helping our economy by a great deal.
Crime: this would actually help lower crime. Drug dealers wouldn’t be able to compete with the tobacco companies that would be selling this new product, making them have to get real jobs to support their families.
Taxes: have a twenty percent tax on every pack of marijuana joints, and every cent from the tax will go towards education, nothing else. This would help a country more than people think. Look at Canada, they legalized marijuana a long time ago and our crime is four times higher than theirs.
This would open up new business, factories, and create over a million new jobs. Just like in Europe, go to a Hookah shop and order some ‘brownies’. A lot of business people would jump on this train. It would help our economy and our education system. Talk about a better America.
But I’d have it have a low THC level to where people wouldn’t have traffic accidents. People are more aware under the influence of marijuana than they are under the influence of alcohol. Think about it.
