Signing Contracts
Yes, they are long and wordy. Yes, they are difficult to understand. Yes, no is not an option. Contracts are binding agreements, but are they what we think they are?
“Just sign here. It’s the standard stuff.”

Have you noticed how lengthy contracts have become even on seeming trivial agreements? From cable TV, to cell phones, to cars and homes contracts are agreement documents we all sign. Most of us read very little of, if any of the contracts we so willingly put our agreement to the terms signature to.
“Can’t we just shake on this?”
We are assured the contract is in the best interest of all parties. However, the party atmosphere of the purchase and cherished possession is all over when section 8, paragraph 4, line 12 of sub-section 2, paragraph 6, line 7 is not met according to the stipultations of section 3, paragraph 8, line 32 which explicitly support the statements supporting the stipulations either expressed, or inferred, or intended by the party of the first part, whom by implied expressions and/or wordings is clearly not the partying type.
Two things to remember when you must sign a contract are:
1– a contract entered into by you and a corporation, be it a bank, auto dealer, or communications provider, is not really to benefit you. It is to assure the business they will get their money, no matter your circumstances in life. Know this when you sign. This is not firstborn promises, but almost.
2–the longer, the wordier, and the more difficult it is to understand, the more chances are you are stepping into deep droppings. Be prepared to be surprised. Wordy, long and difficult are decoys to hide commitments you in your right mind would not agree to.
3–(hmm? I thought there were only two things to remember) Nothing is at it seems, or is told to you. Do your very best to honor what you signed, or be prepared to experience what road kill must feel like with attorneys feeding off your soul, the souls of your children, and the souls of your children’s children.
“I just wanted to buy a coke.”
“Please sign here.”
“But this must be 20 pages.”
“30. Sign here, here, there, there and here. Initial here and over here.”
“All this for a coke?”
“Its standard stuff.”
