The War on Drugs: Is It Lost?
Today’s modern “War on Drugs” is less than a war on “drugs”.
In conclusion, Cannabis sativa has been given a bad reputation by those with their own personal advances in mind. This reputation has continued into the 21st century, and has left the hemp industry out of today’s society. Marijuana has many more beneficial attributes than just recreational, many of which that could be currently put to use. However, it is our decision as a nation if we want to make the choice to inform and rediscover the possibilities that hemp has to offer. A part of continuing as a society is adapting to changes. The choices we are making today have proven to be detrimental to not only ourselves, but our planet. Carbon emissions and rising gasoline prices are among some of the reasons that using hemp as an alternative source of fuel should be examined. Hemp, as proved by Henry Ford in the 1940s, can be an alternative source of gasoline. Large amounts of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere have been proven to contribute to the rising global temperature. Trees, which are currently the main source of paper production, could be left to grow, while hemp stalks are used to produce paper. Since trees thrive off of carbon dioxide, the levels of carbon in the atmosphere could potentially level out. I believe that as a growing nation, the United States needs as many potentially productive choices as possible. While there is no scientific proof that marijuana will solve any these problems, it does that alternative.

An article with aspects I’d not been acquainted with. Although I will never use a drug personally,I imagine I support those who simply wish to apply their harmless use of human freedom.
